be away from it all

be away from it all

To be completely removed from the stresses of one's normal situation, routine, responsibilities, etc. I'm so stressed about work that I'm leaving town for a few days—I just need to be away from it all for a while. Gosh, I love camping. It's so nice to spend some time in nature and be away from it all, if even just for a weekend. I'm not looking forward to going back to work after I've been away from it all for months on maternity leave.
