1. verb To vomit. I felt like I was going to barf from seasickness out on that boat. When I had the flu, I spent most of the time barfing. After such a turbulent plane ride, we all felt like we were going to barf.
2. verb To malfunction, usually of a computer. Can you take a look at my computer? It keeps barfing. Why is my computer barfing like that? What am I doing wrong? A: "Is your computer still barfing?" B: "Yeah, someone from IT should be down soon to look at it."
3. noun Vomit. Ugh, the sight of barf instantly makes me gag. Ew, there's barf on the floor. Someone call the janitor! A: "What happened? The whole car smells like barf!" B: "Yeah, Tommy got sick on the drive home."
4. An expression of frustration, disgust, etc. Did I just get a parking ticket? Ugh, barf. She's dating the obnoxious guy from my econ class? Barf. Does Mom really want us to spend all day cleaning out the garage? Barf!
