bag out

1. To quit, escape from, or abandon some activity or pursuit. Often followed by "of something." The government is being criticized for bagging out of the trade agreement. We decided to bag out after realizing how risky the business venture might be. If this partnership isn't immediately profitable, I'm worried that that big company will bag out of it.

2. To criticize or berate someone in a harsh, forceful manner. In this usage, a noun or pronoun can be used between "bag" and "out." The teacher bagged me out in front of the whole class for being late. It's so awkward the way she bags out her husband like that whenever we all get together. After I flubbed that easy catch in the outfield, I knew the coach was gonna bag me out back in the dugout.
