1. An application, a program that can be used on a smartphone, computer, or similar device. Our developers are already working to improve the app for the next release. If that's a free app, I might have to download it myself. I was pleasantly surprised by how robust that photo editing app is.
2. An appetizer. In this usage, the word is often plural. Do you guys want to order any apps? You guys didn't miss much—we've only ordered drinks and apps at this point. Do you want to get some apps? Maybe nachos and mozzarella sticks?
