When one makes a promise, it should be done with the intention of following through. I said I would help you, and I will—because, as far as I'm concerned, a promise made is a promise kept. A: "You're not going to try to weasel out of helping me move, are you?" B: "No way—a promise made is a promise kept." Of course I'm still coming to visit this weekend! I said I would, and a promise made is a promise kept, is it not?
