Neanderthal

slang A crude, boorish, typically unintelligent or backwards-thinking person, especially a man. Often left uncapitalized in writing. A reference to the species of archaic humans that went extinct roughly 40,000 years ago. There are always a couple of neanderthals who whistle lewdly at me as I walk by the construction site on my way home from work. Get your hands off of me, you Neanderthal!
