Generation Xer
A nickname for a member of Generation X, the generation of people born roughly between 1965 and 1980, between baby boomers and millennials. The name comes from the title of Douglas Coupland's 1991 novel Generation X: Tales for an Accelerated Culture. Commonly abbreviated as "Gen Xer." I know it's hard for you to believe, but Generations Xers like me had to grow up without the Internet. I know my Generation Xers can relate to inheriting a car with crank windows, no air conditioning, and no radio—not even a cassette player! Remember the days of cigarette vending machines? It feels like we Generation Xers grew up in a different world sometimes.
