Dick Tracy

Jocular slang for someone investigating something (often something trivial). A reference to the hard-nosed detective in the comic strip of the same name. Hey Dick Tracy, what do you think you're doing, snooping around here? We've got to get Dick Tracy out of here before he figures out that we're the ones who actually broke the vase. A: "What are you up to, Dick Tracy?" B: "While you guys are content to sit back and let the cops flub this, I am going through security footage to try to see who stole the car."
