(not) give a toss

slang To (not) be concerned about someone or something. Most commonly used in negative constructions. I don't give a toss about making money, I just want to do something with my life that makes life better for others. I haven't given a toss for the show ever since they killed off my favorite character. Do whatever you want, I don't give a toss.

BRITISH, INFORMAL, RUDE
COMMON If you don't give a toss about something, you do not care about it at all. I didn't give a toss about society because it had never given a toss about me. `We couldn't give a toss what journalists think,' says the band's drummer. Note: In this expression, `toss' is a rude, slang word meaning to masturbate.
