Drastically or diametrically different from one another. Primarily heard in UK. Good luck getting those two to talk to each other—they're as alike as chalk and cheese. My daughters have always been alike as chalk and cheese. One loves baseball and the other loves ballet. They might be identical twins, but Jim and Greg are alike as chalk and cheese in personality.
