golden hammer

The inability to recognize other possible outcomes or solutions if one relies too much on a particular tool, method, or mindset. The term refers to 20th-century psychologist Abraham Maslow and his idea that "If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail." Also known as "Maslow's hammer." The trouble with these Freudian scholars is that they don't realize some things can be taken at face value. The golden hammer is a real problem. Don't get too fixated on the golden hammer here, counselor. There are other ways to resolve this case than your usual method—the plea bargain. I know you're rich, but can you please look beyond the golden hammer and not just throw money at this problem?
