goldbrick

1. verb To avoid or neglect one's work or duties. A "gold brick" is a bar of metal that appears to be actual gold when it is not. Quit goldbricking and get back to work! Ed's been known to goldbrick, so I'm not surprised that he didn't finish that project like you asked him to. If you fools are gonna stand around and goldbrick, don't do it directly outside the boss's office!
2. noun One who avoids or neglects their work or duties. Ed's a known goldbrick, so I'm not surprised that he didn't finish that project like you asked him to. Come on, now, don't be a goldbrick. You were given a job, so you need to see it through! Sure, I'd rather be a goldbrick than go to work, but I do need to get paid.
