1. adjective Corrupt or immoral. This town is full of dirty cops—they're more dangerous than the gangs. The dirty politicians of the 80s ruined the public's trust in the government to this day. You can get whatever you want if you give that dirty senator enough money.
2. noun In a deceitful or hurtful manner. I wouldn't go out with Adam if I were you—he really did Louise dirty by cheating on her. I can't believe that you're the one who did me dirty and sabotaged my presentation! You can't do these people dirty and expect them to continue doing business with you.

1. mod. obscene. The movie was too dirty for me.
2. mod. low and sneaky. What a dirty thing to do!
3. mod. illegal; on the wrong side of the law. (Compare this with clean.) The cops knew that Last Card Louie was dirty, and they searched his car until they found something they could use against him.
