A state or appearance of extreme ill health. (Often preceded by "look like" or "feel like.") A: "You had a lot to drink last night. How are you feeling this morning?" B: "Like death warmed up." You look like death warmed up, I think you should see a doctor! I'm feeling like death warmed up this morning. There's no way I can make it to work.
