(one) can keep it

An expression of disinterest in something, such as an idea or a proposal. If the teachers want us to do all this work in exchange for 10 measly points of extra credit, then they can keep it. Oh boy, you'll pay me a whole $10 to watch your kids all afternoon? Gee, no thanks, you can keep it. They did offer me a job, but I told the recruiter she can keep it. Their salary was nowhere near what I'm looking for.
