One's sincere promise or vow (about or to do something). I will be in that court to stand by your side during the trail—I give you my word of honor. After the president broke his word about lowering taxes for middle-class earners, I vowed never to vote for him again.

This has to do with understanding words, which will be the topic of the next lecture; but something must be said about it now.
We might be tempted to put the memory-belief into the words: "Something like this image occurred." But such words would be very far from an accurate translation of the simplest kind of memory-belief.
