A polite phrase of acknowledgement or acceptance, especially from a position of service. A: "I'll take the lobster bisque with a glass of chardonnay, please." B: "Very good, ma'am." A: "Would you like to be shown to your room now, sir?" B: "No, I think I'll have a drink at the bar first." A: "Very good." A: "What would you like to attend to first, Master Blaine?" B: "Let's start by surveying the property, Jeeves." A: "Very good, sir."

2. Thank you for your instructions. (Typically said by someone in a serving role, such as a clerk, waiter, waitress, butler, maid, etc.) Waiter: What are you drinking, madam? Sue: It's just soda. No more, thanks. Waiter: Very good. Mary: Would you charge this to my account? Clerk: Very good.
