there are two sides to every story

there are two sides to every story

It is always worth listening to or trying to understand both opposing perspectives of a given situation. A: "They said they caught Mary stealing equipment from the supply closet." B: "Hold on, there are two sides to every story. Let's bring Mary in and ask her to give an explanation before we take any action." I know the manager has made us look pretty bad regarding the failure of the project, but there are two sides to every story. I bet, for instance, he left out how he had been providing us with incorrect specs up until we were nearly halfway done.
