An abbreviation for "too much information," a phrase used to indicate that someone has discussed something, often something personal, that makes the recipient uncomfortable, or that the recipient would prefer not to know. Ugh, they still haven't gotten the results of my stool sample back. Sorry, TMI? Whoa, TMI! I don't need to hear every detail about your dates, you know.
