shit out of luck

1. rude slang Having gotten an unfavorable or unfortunate result. Sorry kid, you're shit out of luck—I just sold the last ticket. I called stores across the entire city, but nowhere has a copy left. I guess we're shit out of luck.
2. rude slang In a hopeless position or situation. You're shit out of luck if you think I'd ever give you back your job. We need that part before we can finish the prototype. We're shit out of luck if it doesn't arrive in time.
