slang Generally pleasing to look at from afar, but unattractive up close. Popularized by the 1995 film Clueless. She's definitely a monet. She looks good in a group of girls, but up close you can see all those layers of makeup and fake tan, and she just looks gross.
mod. good-looking from a distance. (From the works of the painter, Monet.) He’s sort of monet. Okay from a distance, but up close: yuck. But that’s just my impression.
