ladyfinger

1. A sponge cake that has been piped into approximate length and shape of a finger. His tiramisu features fresh homemade ladyfingers drenched in coffee liqueur.
2. The edible pods of the okra plant. Primarily heard in US. I always hated okra as a kid because we only ever ate it out of a can, but once I tasted a fresh ladyfinger, I thought it was delicious!
3. A small, thin firecracker, several of which are typically strung together to explode in rapid succession. Primarily heard in US. They let the kids set off ladyfingers in the driveway, while the adults and older kids set off heavier duty fireworks across the street.
