Used before or after some declaration as a means of expressing annoyance or indignation. A: "Look at Mr. Snooty over here. Thinks he's better than us with his fancy English degree." B: "I have a PhD in Postmodern American Literature, I will have you know." A: "Ooh-la-la!" I'll have you know that this car costs more than you earn in a year, so be careful with it!
