1. To set out, as on some journey or mission. Often used as an imperative. We're going forth on an adventure through an unknown land. Now, go forth and spread the message of our people.
2. To be issued, published, or sent out. Used exclusively in the past tense or in passive constructions. The orders have gone forth for our troops to advance to the next target.
