Circle Jerks and Bad Religion, will join in the fun on July 25, in what is shaping up to be a celebration of two punk pioneers.
In their first release, Betrayed played punk under the influence of US hardcore bands like
Circle Jerks and Black Flag.

After I moved to the Northwest, I really got into the So Cal punk stuff like CH 3, Black Flag, and
Circle Jerks. I started playing in MILLHOUS back in the early 90's with Ian and the rest is history."

The band is led by Keith Morris, who in the 1970s and 1980s was the frontman for legendary punk pioneers Black Flag and the
Circle Jerks. Middle age hasn't mellowed the fiery Morris one bit; the music he makes with OFF!
The Bots are a young - 15 and 18 - brotherly duo who play a mix of spaced out Americana and scuzzy, US punk, influenced by the likes of The
Circle Jerks, Black Flag, Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, Bad Brains and The Talking Heads.
For most people the prospect of incarceration at the Headingly Provincial Jail is unpleasant, but Jammy emerged from the experience with tales of wonderment: the inmates scooping water out of their cell toilets, draining the plumbing to turn the pipes into an elaborate telephone system; and the quotidian midnight
circle jerks with Native gangsters.

Kind though the invitation was, I didn't attend, because celebrity
circle jerks have never been my scene (and anyway, I'm filming a documentary about the late Idi Amin, of which more next week).

Circle Jerks, Seven Seconds, and Social Distortion years ago.
