Of a printed work, in its entirety from beginning to end. I love those books. I read them all cover to cover when I was a kid! From cover to cover, this magazine always contains the most insightful information about the world of bird watching. This book was so good that I read it cover to cover in two days, which is so unlike me.

from the beginning to the end of a book, magazine, etc: I’ve read the newspaper from cover to cover, but I can’t find any mention of yesterday’s accident.
