slang Shorthand for "end of sarcasm," used primarily in online communications to indicate that everything up to that point had been sarcastic and not meant to be taken seriously. Modeled on the standard way of indicating the end of a formatting tag, for instance /i (closes an italics tag) or /b (closes a bold tag), in computer text markup languages such as HTML or XML.
