To be evasive, noncompliant, or uncooperative; to employ delaying or obstructive tactics. Can be used either transitively or intransitively. The party has been stonewalling the legislation in the senate until the president-elect takes office. The court order will hopefully stop the CEO from stonewalling any further.
1. tv. to obstruct something or someone. And again, the mayor tried to stonewall the investigation.
2. n. an obstructionist act. His answer to the committee was another stonewall that caught them all by surprise.
