stomp on someone 
1. Lit. to stamp someone down. The angry crowd knocked him down and stomped on him. The crowd stomped on the mugger.
2. Fig. to repress someone. Every time I get a good idea, the boss stomps on me. Don't stomp on her every time she says something.

The day was rounded off with a charity Line Dance organised by Romanby Stompers with pounds 100 being donated to the district council's chosen charity for the year - the Air Ambulance.
The Rydale Jazz Band are booked for the following Monday with the Yorkshire Stompers appearing on August 24 followed on the Bank Holiday Monday by the White Eagles Jazzband.
The traditional jazz band Zenith Hot Stompers will entertain the crowds and there will be displays from West Midlands' Woodcarvers.
