smarmy

1. Excessively or insincerely obsequious or ingratiating. I told the smarmy salesperson that I didn't need any help, but he kept pestering me the whole time I was looking at cars. I hate the smarmy waitstaff at that restaurant. I just want to eat some food, not be waited on hand a foot.
2. Sleazy, lewd, or repulsive. There's this smarmy guy at the bar who keeps hitting on me every time I go up to buy a drink. My uncle's tells the same smarmy jokes every time the whole family gets together.
