At one time or in one instance being one way, and then at another time being a completely different way. The manager keeps changing his outlook on the project, now really hopeful, now very pessimistic.
A phrase used to soothe one who is upset. Now, now, don't be upset, I'm sure we'll find your dog in no time. Now, now, everyone's getting a bit too heated in this argument. Let's all just take a deep breath and relax.
