Even though I goofed off too much, I learned enough of the basics in Detroit's Central High to continue my education at another public institution, Michigan State University, in 1951. After they goofed off as a team in the World Golf Championships in Japan last week, Nike runway models Tiger Woods and David Duval compete against each other in the PGA Grand Slam of Golf in Hawaii. But up close I saw that they cut corners and goofed off just as much as we kids did, which put us on an equal footing, and made me feel grown-up. |
