get out of the road

get out of the road

1. Literally, to move off of a road. Primarily heard in UK. We'd better get out of the road, there's an ambulance screaming toward us.
2. By extension, to move out of the way of someone or something. Usually issued as a command. Hey, Mike! Get out of the road, would ya? I'm trying to move these crates!
