factory farming - a system for producing eggs, meat, and milk quickly and cheaply by keeping animals in small closed areas and giving them food which makes them grow quickly. Factory-farmed chickens contain a lot of fat because they're kept indoors and don't get any exercise.

While organic eggs are certainly better for the environment than regular factory-farmed eggs, they (like most animal products) are still an environmentally inefficient way of obtaining food.
The one issue clearly missing is the plight of the nine billion factory-farmed animals killed each year, largely for the fast food industry.
According to Sierra Club scientist Navis Bermudez, "More than half of the antibiotics fed to factory-farmed animals to compensate for crowded conditions are identical, or nearly identical, to the ones doctors rely on for treating sick people.
