someone from some place to force someone to move out of something or some place. They evicted the squatters from the building. They were evicted from their home for not paying their mortgage.

The only exception is Gail Omvedt's essay, which compares two environmental movements, the Narmada movement and the Krishna valley water movement in southern Mahrashtra, and argues that the latter succeeded in meeting the objectives of the evictees and the beneficiaries of the dam.
