come up for (something)

1. To travel north for a particular reason. We only came up for my cousin's wedding in Boston, so we won't be in town for very long—we're heading back to Florida on Sunday.
2. To become available or eligible for something. I doubt that such a thorny topic will come up for discussion at a dinner party. Our subscription comes up for renewal this month—do you want to keep it?
