With a warm, throaty soprano reminiscent of Emmylou Harris, and phrasing ingenuity to match, Lynch sounds strongest on the more overtly religious tracks and bluesier laments. It rocks in a similar way to the earlier Humpers, just take out the power chords and replace them with something much bluesier and slow it down a notch. For my part, I would have preferred more from the bluesier types - King, Guy, etc. |
