If something is all over the lot, it is in a large number of places or spread over a wide range of things. We threw the ball all over the lot against the Giants. The company's investments have been all over the lot — in fiber-optic technology, database systems, computer networks and so on. Note: The usual British expression is all over the shop. Note: In American English, a lot is an area of land.
