tip in

In each usage, a noun or pronoun can be used between "tip" and "in."
1. To tilt some vessel to pour its contents into something else. After you've fried the onions and garlic for a few minutes, go ahead and tip the canned tomatoes in.
2. To insert some printed material into a book by pasting it along the edge of the binding. The author wants us to tip in a map of the region before the preface.
