go forth

1. To set out, as on some journey or mission. Often used as an imperative. We're going forth on an adventure through an unknown land. Now, go forth and spread the message of our people. Now that you have your assignment, go forth to the capital and find this man.
2. To be issued, published, or sent out. Used exclusively in the past tense or in passive constructions. The orders have gone forth for our troops to advance to the next target. The editor is going to be furious when he finds out this issue went forth with a major printing error. Have those letters gone forth yet?
