On the other side of some division, such as a row, street, aisle, river, etc. Primarily heard in UK. As I was riding on the bus, a man I'd never seen before kept leering at me from across the way. We're all out of those, I'm afraid—you'll have to go to our other store across the way to get them. I'm trying to bake a cake and I just ran out of milk. Would you please go across the way and ask Mrs. Miller if she has some?
