yank (someone or something) off of (someone or something else)

To pull, tug, or jerk someone or something off of someone or something else with very sudden force. The magician yanked the sheet off of his assistant, revealing that she had disappeared. The principal yanked the boy off of the stage when he started singing a vulgar song during the talent show.
