To occur simultaneously and function in conjunction with someone or something else. The tax changes are meant to work in tandem with several existing relief schemes for lower-income families. My wife and I work in tandem to finish each book. She completes each illustration as I write the story. The director worked in tandem with numerous psychologists to faithfully portray dissociative identity disorder.
