1. Clusters of wine grapes that remain attached to their stems during fermentation. Wine made with whole bunches has become something of a fad in the wine world recently. We started using whole bunches in our fermentation process because we feel it yields a more satisfying flavor and texture.

2. A large number (of people or things). Usually used informally. Whole bunches of people have been coming in to see our show. I heard that professor assigns whole bunches of homework throughout the semester!
