1. An onomatopoeia of the sound of an engine revving noisily. The child sped down the sidewalk on his scooter, shouting, "Varoom, varoom!" as he went. I used to love hearing the varoom of my dad's motorcycle as he came home from work.
2. To move or travel noisily, as in or of a motor vehicle. The car varoomed down the street, weaving in and out of traffic. I hate the way those guys varoom through the neighborhood in their sports cars in the middle of the night.
vroom
