thud against (someone or something)

To collide with someone or something and cause a dull, heavy sound as a result of the impact. The boy went running around the corner and thudded against the principal. I slammed on the brakes of my bike, but I still thudded against the side of the van that had cut me off.

to thump against someone or something, making a dull noise on impact. The pumpkin thudded against Jerry, breaking open and messing up his clothes. The ball thudded against the wall and bounced back.
