throw (one) out on (one's) ear

To eject, remove, or dismiss one (from some place or situation), especially very abruptly or unceremoniously. I can't believe they'd just throw me out on my ear after 10 years of loyal service to the company! I heard Sarah threw him out on his ear because she caught him cheating again.
