Something has several aspects or elements that remain unresolved or unfinished. The characters were compelling and the plot was interesting, but there were too many loose threads that just never went anywhere. There are still a few loose threads to deal with before I'm ready to consider this case closed. I want you to make sure there are no loose threads before we finalize the deal.
