Some element, aspect, or characteristic of someone or something, especially that one dislikes or disapproves of. It was a well paying job, but I could never get used to the whole customer relations bit that went along with it. I know he's talented, but I don't buy the whole starving-artist bit he puts on.
the whole bit
All the related elements of something. Typically used to indicate that something is or will be done completely or fully, without mentioning all of the specifics. I want a traditional wedding, with the cake, the dress—the whole bit.
