starved for (something)

Longing to receive or experience something that it is absent, or unavailable, or otherwise difficult to obtain. I was constantly trying to perform in front of my friends and family when I was a kid. I guess I was just starved for attention. Their fans were all starved for new information about the upcoming sequel. I'm absolutely starved for a new book to read that's worth my time. Do you have any recommendations?
